The trick is to have two of the players ditch on short/no notice, then have another one duck out for dinner half an hour into the session. Then have the two players left split up in bat country, and have one of those roll a mishap on their Navigation move.
THEN ask that player what they do when they hear muskets lighting up from an ambush, and have him say “Magic Missile!” Instead of something ridiculous like “I take cover”, or “dodge to safety”.
