“Feral” is a better term for the (sentient) mutated animals of the post apocalypse than “beast”, right*?
Related, developing “ken” as a tag for “who you’re related to and relate to”, as “race” has some issues. I’ve got “human” and “humanoid” so far, and I’m of two minds on whether mutated animals get their own category. Especially the humanoid ones

* ideally, “savage” would be in the running, too, but historically we’ve had some issues with that word.
